CBOX OpenLab admins can customize email notification appearance, templates, and group email options. Each of these options are settings for the BuddyPress plugin. They are accessed via hyperlinks show below, located in Dashboard > CBOX OpenLab > Communication Settings:
Email Appearance
This option controls the header, body, and footer of all email notifications generated within you CBOX OpenLab installation.
Click on each option to customize the global appearance of email notifications. The Header option allows you to change background colors, highlight colors, text color, and text font size of the header. The Body option controls similar settings for the body. The Footer option allows you to customize the content of the footer as well as its colors and font size.
Email Templates
The templates for each type of email notification generated are listed in this section and described in the “Situations” column shown below (e.g. welcome emails sent when new members join a group), any of which can be customized.
Click on any of these titles of the email templates to edit, or hover over any of the titles to see more options (e.g. delete, view, etc). In the example below you will see the email template that is used to generate an email request to become a member of a group. The top version is the HTML version of the email. The bottom version is the text version of the email. (Some members may prefer to receive text versions.)
Group Email Options
In Dashboard > Network > Settings > BP Group Email Options, BuddyPress has many Group Email Subscription Settings and CBOX OpenLab admins control these globally. In the section called Group Admin Abilities there’s a setting that allows group admins to override global settings for email subscriptions and the ability to send email to everyone in the group.
Default Group Settings allows network admins to choose the default email settings for all new groups at the network level. Group admins will be able to change these on an individual group basis, but this will choose the default settings for all new groups.
