@helenef – Login to the WP admin dashboard and navigate to the “Commons In A Box” dashboard.

There should be a notice asking you to update the theme. See if you’ve done that. We’ll try and streamline this in an upcoming release.

I took a look at your wiki.  Are you referring to the “Recently Active” and “Most Active” columns?  These are widgets that can be removed from your dashboard = Appearance>>Widgets .  They are in the “Wiki Bottom Right” and Wiki Bottom Left” sections.

@helenef – When you upgrade the CBOX plugin, you still have to go to the CBOX dashboard to apply any upgrades to plugins and the CBOX theme.

What happens when you login to the WP admin dashboard and click on the “Commons In A Box” tab:

Do you see any prompts to upgrade anything?

@investa – As a test, would mind switching to a different permalink setting to see if that fixes the problem? BuddyPress Docs previously had a problem with the “post name” setting, and we might at least rule it out.

@helenef It’s not quite a solution for what you’re after, but you can use the Visual Editor for group descriptions in WP Admin. Edit the relevant group from the groups list that BP provides.
