theme works well in every section in the front end but ‘notification’, when i click there the page goes like 300 px to the left off center. Right margin remains the same but the page is squeezed, doesn’t look very good.
Hi Erik – Is it possible that you have upgraded to the new version of BuddyPress? We have a new release of CBOX (1.0.7) that will come out very soon (I think in a couple days) that will be compatible with the new version of BP and has a number of bug fixes and improvements.
I tested “Notifications” on my 1.0.6 site and didn’t see any issues.
If you want to provide a screenshot, we can look further into this one.
I am having the same problems. I am using the upgrade (Version 1.0.7 with requisite plugin upgrades) but clicking on notifications moves profile from full screen to a view with a blank left hand margin. None of the notifications are visible, just a white bar.
In addition if anyone has the css code to give me an icon next to the notifications menu title, I would appreciate it 🙂
Worked out icon code – I must be improving! Any help with off centre notification page and the lack of notification text would still be appreciated though.
Hi Sam and Erik – thanks for reporting. I was thinking you were talking about the “Notifications Setting” page. I have opened up a ticket and you can track its progress here:
Hi Sam and Erik – are you guys running child themes? And what kind of notifications are producing this error. The dev team needs a little more information. Thanks.
I am running a child theme. None of the notifications are showing up – just a blank white rectangular box.
I have the admin bar disabled in the front end, which may be the issue, in the admin area the notifications are new blog published, friends request etc.
I have also noticed that it is only my more recent members (although members further back than cbox update) that have the notifications menu tab in their profile. For my older members that menu tab isn’t present.
Update: I have disable a plugin: BuddyPress Notifications Widget, which has returned notifications menu tab to all profiles (new and old). All else remains the same.
This should all be fixed in the most recent release. Including a nice icon for the notifications menu item. Are you positive that you have the most recent version of the CBOX theme? Could you make sure that you have the following files in your CBOX theme:
And are you using a child theme that has made any template changes?
Hi Bowe, I must have missed a crucial step somewhere. For me, I have:
In my cbox theme files, I have
cbox/members/single/ but notifications files (messages but not notifications)
Can you see where I’ve gone wrong?
* That was meant to say no notifications file after cbox/members/single
Found notifications.php under
cbox/members/single/settings/notifications.php haven't yet tracked down
Hi I have the same issue (empty white space on the left hand side and black background, same screenshot than the one provided by Sam Brown at the beginning of the thread). I get that both from notifications in the members menu of the members page, and when I open notifications from the ‘Howdy’ drop down list at the top right corner.
I just updated to WP 3.8.1 and Cbox 1.0.7. All my plugins are updated. I run the default Cbox theme, and from what I am aware of, no child theme.
(Another) Update: I think I may have omitted updating in the commons in a box dashboard. Notifications now showing with bell icon. Hope that helps Helene and Erik.
Mine lacks a little finesse in it’s appearance. Does it look like a plugin conflict?
To me it looks more like a bug in the notification template…
