I haven’t actually heard of any issues with WP 4.0.  Is it possible that you can go to Settings>>Permalinks and ‘save’ to refresh your links – does that resolve this issue?

We pan to release a new version of CBOX in the next couple weeks that will be compatible with BuddyPress 2.1.  So yes, it is best to downgrade to the older version before that.

Thanks for letting us know about these issues.  It will help the dev team (@r-a-y @cbox-admin) isolate problems and make  necessary changes.

Do you have other plugins installed besides CBOX?  Can you try deactivating them to see if it resolves the issue.  It looks like some kind of conflict is preventing jQuery from loading.

I’ve used WordFence on a few CBOX sites. @r-a-y has also created a plugin
that restricts registration to .org and .edu addresses, with others
required to email site admins to request account registration.

I wanted to test the CBOX-MLA theme but I got this error:
