My CBox just reverted to some kind of WP theme

I updated WP and some plugins and now my CBox looks like a plain old WP blog.  Did I just break CBox?  Checked under the hood – – CBox plugin active, BuddyPress on, using default theme, etc. . . . e.g. everything looks fine.  Here’s my site.

Hi Larry – I tried to view your site but it seems as though it is private.  Can you go to your dashboard, Appearance>>Themes and see if by chance that your CBOX theme was deactivated?  If so, just activate it again – if not, can you send a screenshot of what you’re seeing or create a login for us (maybe send via email).  Thanks.

Hi Scott – – Here are screenshots of: 1) Themes panel; 2) front page of the site.  I’m happy to create a login – – let me know where to send the email or I can message to you here (once we’re friends).

Hi Larry – definitely looks like you are using the CBOX theme – could you describe more what is not working?  If your links aren’t working, maybe you can refresh your permalinks to see if that might help.  Have you looked on other browsers to see if you get the same results?  Could it be some caching issues?  Let us know.

Scott – – All the links are working and the site works, except that it appears as a WP blog, e.g. no slider, the widget boxes on the front page are missing, no activity box below the slider, etc.  Whatever is happening seems to have affected mainly the appearance and the front page.

Hi Larry – very strange.  Have you tried deactivating the theme and then reactivating it? Or going to the CBOX settings to see if the slider is activated?  You can invite me at scott.voth@verizon.net  Thanks.

Scott – – yep, I deactivated the theme and reactivated, network disabled and enabled.  Same outcome.  The slider appears to be activated from the dashboard.  I’m mystified.  Have sent you an invite (with admin privileges).

Hi Larry – For some reason, in your settings, your site was opening up to the post page and was missing the Home page (with the Homepage template).  It should open up to a static page called “Home” or something like that.  Can you check it out now to see if it is what you are expecting?  Thanks.

Scott . . .thanks a million!  Everything is back to normal and looks great.  How do you think the “Home” page miscue occurred?  Except for the WP updates, I haven’t done much under the hood since I installed CBox in January or so.  Just curious.

Hi Larry – I am really not sure what happened.  From what you have said, it seems like it was caused by your WP upgrade.  Maybe somehow the upgrade switched your site reading options to posts (the WP default). rather than a static page.  I am pinging@r-a-y and @haystack to see if maybe they might have heard of any such issues.  I haven’t.

I am glad that you site is back to normal, and by all means, let us know if any of this happens in the future.  Thanks.

I haven’t encountered this before, but IIRC WordPress will revert to the default theme if it encounters an error with the currently active theme. This may have happened in this case. I’m going to test the 1.0.10 upgrade today, so will keep an eye out for this behaviour. Thank you for the report Larry.
