I’ve experienced the same limitation, look forward to installing the new version when it’s released. Thanks!
February 17, 2013 at 2:33 pm #2020hoeneraParticipantGo to:
Apparence > cbox theme options > Options (tab) > Header (show all)
There are a bunch of options, and the ability to add two images, Logo image, and background image. I think you can accomplish most of what you are looking for.
February 16, 2013 at 3:17 pm #2014hoeneraParticipantI haven’t tried it, but:
new feature > add media > add media from url would be the first thing I’d try. If that didn’t work, I’d copy the embed code from the tube,
New feature > click text tab. paste the embed code in there and save.
Good luck.
February 16, 2013 at 9:38 am #2007hoeneraParticipantdashboard > pages > add new.
once you’ve created some pages:
Appearance > Menus
You have to name and save a menu, upper right area “my menu” then in the pages palate on the left select the pages you want and
> Add to menu
you can drag to change order or create hierarchy, remember to save menu. one more thing, on the left there’s a place to specify where the menu will show, there may only be one choice, probably “primary” (some themes have additional choices).
Hope this helps
February 15, 2013 at 9:53 pm #2001hoeneraParticipantI appreciate the work/thinking you’re doing, looked at http://menemania.typepad.com as well as, http://commonsabundance.net.
You’ve made changes to the footer showing at
Members Directory | Commons Abundance Network
So I’m guessing, this is the “Frontpage” footer you’ve customized?
Have you tried working from:
Dashboard>appearance>widgets:
MIght not be the right answer, but that’s where I’d start. I look forward to seeing commons abundance Network grow!
February 5, 2013 at 12:52 pm #1945hoeneraParticipantChuck,
in my case, our site is ready, it’s just not intended as a public site. I can however set you up as a visitor.
February 5, 2013 at 8:59 am #1942hoeneraParticipantI’m honored, thanks. I’d be curious to see how you’re employing Cbox for your classes, and I’d be happy to share ours, ours is however not open to the public, I’d have to create user/pw info. hoenera@newpaltz.edu
February 4, 2013 at 10:46 pm #1940hoeneraParticipantOK so the screenshot doesn’t display as I’d intended, however if you click it you’ll see the rest.
“Reason for revision….”
This I would use also, since mine is a network of Graphic Design coursblogs, Reason for revision could prove to be quite useful — is it custom type/taxonomy sort of thing?
February 4, 2013 at 10:42 pm #1938hoeneraParticipantRay, or anyone:
where does this option come from:

I don’t know anything about “GDbb…” Though it does sound interesting.
I have installed a mime type plugin, and it seems to do the trick for adding file types not allowed to the blog in general, perhaps it would help in your applicaton: AP Extended Mime Types.
Hope this helps.
January 26, 2013 at 8:02 pm #1832hoeneraParticipantGary,
They’re not uploading pdf with groups. I am on multisite, and each class has it’s own site. Students are uploading PDFs of work there. Once something’s in the media library, it’s got a URL, so you can reference it from pretty much anywhere. Multisite works quite well for us in this regard. We have one site for all Graphic Design students, and course sites, as individual sites. Have been doing this for several years and it’s great. The part we’ve used least, and we have had buddypress running for quite some time, is groups and forums.
Apologies to the degree that ran off topic.
January 26, 2013 at 5:43 pm #1827hoeneraParticipantHi, I don’t know If I’m fully understanding your question.
I’m using a buddy press doc for my office hours, I’ve set it up so all the students can edit the document (to add their name/info).
That document has a url, so couldn’t I just use <a href=”” in a topic to call up the doc? I may be missing exactly what you’re trying to do with the documents.
Also may not be to the point, but in my classes, students are posting .pdf all the time, I’d love it if there was some way to make commenting possible at that level (where the pdf is open in our browser) I’m quite sure THAT’s a WP question, not a Cbox question.
Good to see more folks are using WP for courseware!
January 18, 2013 at 7:35 pm #1711hoeneraParticipantGuy,
Dashboard > Appearance > Widgits> Homepage middle (on right)
You have a number of options, but to keep it simple, drag “text” from the left over “homepage middle” click the triangle on “text” and enter your welcome.
You can include some HTML here to style the text if necessary.
January 17, 2013 at 4:27 pm #1701hoeneraParticipantHello Guy
I had to knock around a good bit at first as well, that famous 5 minute install took me a little over a week!
Not sure what you mean by “register” page, do you mean the log on?
As far as the slider on the front page, if you go to the dashboard>add feature>add an image>make it a featured image>add a title, the slide should appear in the slider, with the title at the bottom.
