September 5, 2014 at 9:54 am #5093DavidParticipant
I now understand that is how it creates multiple blogs wordpress, which
to my understanding, is built around one central blog with categories.
I am experimenting with the plugin. I really like the idea of having a
p2 blog feed for folks. But this is not looking like it fits the bill.
The p2 group blog has all sorts of formatting issues and I do not have
the know how to tweak it to fix. Will experiment more later.I am looking to provide the tools for folks to collaborate within groups
and as a committee. Bring together resources and brainstorm, process
and review and act based on the conversations, decisions. To help along
the way, I really wanted the ability to create projects on the fly.Thought, Cbox, p2(through group blogs plugin) and collabpress might
work. Loving Cbox, but need to have the other tools.September 4, 2014 at 8:39 pm #5091DavidParticipantI was able to move the themes over to the correct “themes” folder. I network installed them and it seems to have fixed the blog link navigating away from the groups. Will keep exploring.
September 4, 2014 at 7:36 pm #5090DavidParticipantChristian,
Thanks
So how do I take the bundled themes from the “themes” folder and use
them? I am guessing I can use my web hosting site’s file manager and
transfer them to the right directory? Or do I need to download them and
then upload them. In order to do that I need to know what I am
downloading. With regards to the groups… when I use any link to navigate to the
group, it takes me to a solitary blog page. I have not been able to
figure out how to get to the other group elements (forum, wiki, files
etc etc) On groups created prior to the install of the groups bloog
plugin, I think I can still get to those elements. It is really strange. When I use the group blog plugin it seems as
though it is actually creating an entire new site… rather than a group
within the original site.Thanks again

I will keep you apprised. It seems as though someone out there must have
been interested in using groups in this manner. It seems like having
tools to coordinate a “team” makes sense.
Hope someone has some experience. I will look for a buddy press project
managment plugin to start with. You are right that compatibility is
important.January 10, 2014 at 5:06 pm #4194DavidParticipantI was curious about this problem. I went to track it, and it asks for a password when you click on the link.
January 10, 2014 at 5:04 pm #4193DavidParticipantI found there is also a similar plugin called wordbook, though it seems to have a little less documentation and less functionality.
January 10, 2014 at 5:02 pm #4192DavidParticipantI am also curious about this.
December 16, 2013 at 5:01 pm #4098DavidParticipantThanks... This happens when I try to reply to the forum here. I have not tried it on my install yet, as I am mostly exploring with a local installation and it does not seem like it would work. I do not have access to the RBE here. Are others able to reply by email? David"
December 16, 2013 at 3:07 pm #4094DavidParticipantAny other ideas about this?
December 16, 2013 at 3:06 pm #4093DavidParticipantThanks… I took a look and I have tos ay, I really like how the forum is displayed on the page.
It would be nice to have a way to close a forum thread and have it easily found.
December 13, 2013 at 12:24 pm #4084DavidParticipantIt is the same account. I am using Thunderbird as an email client.
December 13, 2013 at 10:41 am #4081DavidParticipantThat does look interesting. Like the ability to upload pics and post etc. However, what I really want is a way to access and post to forums, and file depositories that might be of use.
December 13, 2013 at 9:41 am #4080DavidParticipantI will look. I am assuming there is a way to restrict some users from creating groups based on their role? Is that correct? Also, will any groups be hidden from the site administrator?
So looking at the forums here at cbox… it does not look like there is a good way to search them. Is that correct? It seems as though tags can be added, but it feels like the forum is somewhat limited in this respect.
Thoughts?
December 12, 2013 at 10:38 am #4076DavidParticipantI apologize for all the garbage in the post. It does not look like there is anyway to edit it. though.
Apologies
December 12, 2013 at 10:29 am #4075DavidParticipantI did find this. I will have to test it out. Currently I am exploring cbox locally, so I cannot test it out.
