Does wordpress’s app give people using commons in a box an functionality?  Does it provide quicker access, easier posting etc?

It may give people an easy way to post to a blog on a CBOX site, but I
don’t think it is designed to work with BuddyPress. Haven’t checked it out
    in a while, though.

I did find this.  I will have to test it out. Currently I am exploring cbox locally, so I cannot test it out.

Something like this might also be of interest: http://wordpress.org/plugins/buddymobile/

Looks like there is a new version coming out shortly: http://modemlooper.me/buddymobile-2-0/

That does look interesting. Like the ability to upload pics and post etc.
However, what I really want is a way to access and post to forums, and file depositories that might be of use.

Has there been any progress on this? Is there a buddypress app that people use for CBOX?

I don’t know of anything generic or CBOX-specific, but I have been involved in building something similar. Here are the iOS and Android repos, but bear in mind that they are project-specific and rely on a combination of JSON API, JSON API User and a custom plugin which extends these. Also relies on a heavily customised version of (IIRC) BuddyPress XML-RPC Receiver. It’s not a trivial task, good luck – and please report back if you find anything that works out-of-the-box.

Thanks. After I get launched and growing I will focus on this.
