Theme Options issues
September 20, 2013 at 5:25 pm #3648
I have the latest install of the CBOX theme, plugin, and WordPress and have been running CBOX for quite awhile, but when I went to change my logo this morning was unable to. At first, the options page didn’t load correctly (the edit setting and documentation tabs merged into one long page) and I would get the “loading option editor” notice at the top with the loading graphic, but it would just keep spinning. I figured out that if I went to another tab such as user docs or dev docs, then the options page would load correctly. However, I still cannot upload a logo. I just click and it does nothing. Any ideas?
p.s. I copied over a staging site and reinstalled the latest version of wordpress and disabled all plugins (including the CBOX plugin and buddy press), and I still get the same problem. Also tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Seems to be an issue with the CBOX theme and latest version of WordPress.September 20, 2013 at 5:39 pm #3649GeoffParticipant
Uploading the logo was my problem until I disabled MP6. Not sure what part of MP6 was causing issues.

To those having issues with the CBOX Theme Options page, can you do the following:
* Purge your browser’s cache
* Before attempting to load the theme options page or before attempting to do any action where the theme options page fails, can you open up your browser’s console, then go about the action that is causing the problem? Next, see if any error messages appear in the console. If so, post them in this thread.
Here’s how to open up your browser’s console:
* Chrome – https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/console#basic_operation
* Firefox – https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Web_Console#Opening_the_Web_Console
* IE – http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/hh968260%28v=vs.85%29.aspx#introSeptember 23, 2013 at 3:27 pm #3659
Hope I’ve done this right. apologies if not! To the untrained eye it looks like no errors outside theme options page then ‘jQuery’ is undefined’ on appearance > cbox theme options. I have attached a page copy of the highlughted error and am viewing in IE8 (but am also experiencing the same problem in chrome and safari.September 23, 2013 at 3:28 pm #3660
and now with atttachment!

Can you make sure you are on WordPress 3.6.1 and CBOX 126.96.36.199. And that you have upgraded your CBOX Theme from the CBOX dashboard?September 23, 2013 at 4:35 pm #3666
@Ray as an interim measure I can see when I navigate through Wp-content > themes > cbox-child > config > features.ini, the following appears:
; By uncommenting the lines below you can change some of the default settings in the new child theme. For
; instance if you’d like to change the default logo or background image. Uncomment the “;” in front of
; the “default_value” directive and point it to the location of your replacement image.
I assume (but am willing to be shot down in flames) that I can change the cbox child theme commons logo for my own. My logo url is: http://mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/color6.png but that doesn’t appear to be the right thing to input here. Do you have any advice as to whether I am in the right ballpark and what it is that I need to do. I have searched wordpress forums but it appears that the explanation of the term uncomment is so basic that doesn’t appear to be necessary to clarify it’s meaning. I sure ignorance is curable so could you possibly shove a technical numpty in the right direction. Thank youSeptember 23, 2013 at 5:33 pm #3670
@investa – What happens when you switch your theme to the CBOX theme?
Do not use your child theme until we can verify that the problem occurs in the main CBOX theme.September 23, 2013 at 5:55 pm #3671
Yes exactly the same in CBOX main theme. I only looked at child theme because it already had a logo inserted that I thought it may be interchangeable whilst I had no access to theme options. I am using wordpress 3.6.1 and coommons in a box 188.8.131.52 plugin, I can’t comment on theme options as I didn’t check until more recently but I think my slider issues (although only minmimal – as in extra square brackets) resulted from the previous wordpress update. Shall I do the same f12 test with cbox main theme?September 23, 2013 at 6:13 pm #3672
@Ray – could my problem be this simple? … my theme is 1.0.5 but I can’t see where on the dashboard you can upgrade your theme. I have:
1. settings -quick links for plugins:
2. Theme – leading to the elusive options: and

Your problems are less severe, but still annoying.
Regarding the choosing / uploading a logo issue, to workaround this, please try the following steps:
* Upload the image that you want to use in the Media Library
* Navigate to the CBOX Theme Options page and select the option you want to upload an image for (Header > Logo Image)
* Click on the “Select” button. This will open the “Media Uploader” page in a modal window.
* The image that you just uploaded should be the first image shown. Click on the “Show” link from the right-hand side.
* Then, you should see the image with a list of its details. Click on the “Select this file” button and the image should be added into the CBOX Theme Options page.
* Now, click on the “Save All” button in the CBOX Theme Options page and the change should apply.
Please let me know if this works.
The hot fix we made to coincide with the release of WP 3.6 did not address this.
Our theme developer is working on redoing parts of the theme options page, so it doesn’t rely so heavily on AJAX, which should hopefully resolve the problem in the next release.September 27, 2013 at 3:44 pm #3703
@r-a-y Thanks for the workaround. Unfortunately, my problem is precisely that when I go into Theme Options, for any image upload box (favicon, logo, etc) I see a text cursor when I hover over the associated links (upload, select, zoom, trash) and nothing at all happens when I click on the link.
