Awesome!
Cbox looks exciting and promising, the perfect solution I’ve been looking for.
However, I can’t install it. As the BuddyPress plugin is downloading, there are errors on the Docs Wiki add-in and Group Announcements add-in. The CBOX theme can’t be downloaded either.
Something somewhere got updated and something somewhere else
I’m sure this is the incorrect place for this comment, but on this website the register page doesn’t function either (clicking “Complete Sign Up” just refreshes the page with no change). Otherwise I would join in the help & support forum.
Oops – third line should be “something somewhere got updated and something somewhere else wasn’t compatible?”
Hi Steve,
What browser are you using to signup? I just tested creating a new account with Chrome and it worked. Make sure you answered the skill-testing question on the registration page correctly.
We’ve been using a network of WordPress blogs to replace BB for our Graphic Design program at SUNY New Paltz. I always admired the CUNY Academic Commons, its sophistication and functionality (though I’ve only seen it from the “outside”) and so was very excited to hear at Word Camp NY that Commons in a box would be shared — got it running on our server last week, classes start this week.
Our blogs/course sites are not open to the public, and since we’ve loaded Cbox that’s much easier to manage. Buddypress docs is providing an easy way for students to sign up for office hours, (amongst many other forseeable uses).
The theme is awesome–so much control–so easy. I love the header overlay and opacity settings! The combination of all those choices making it easier than ever to make a visually compelling network/sites.
This is a M A J O R upgrade for us.
Big thanks to Boone! (And everyone else involved).
