    Hi everyone,

I hope it’s okay to ask in one post about updating wording in a few different places. We appreciate your input, and hope this text can be updated. We hope to find out:
-How do we update the five texts below?
    -e.g., are they hard-coded in a file?
    -or, somewhere else not obvious?
-or, would we need to try updating the text through Po files/internationalization?

    1) Hidden profiles currently say “this profile is private,” same as private profiles. We would like to change “private” to “hidden.”

    2) In group profile > settings > site > privacy, the second private option is “I would like the site to be visible only to members of this community.” We would like to update that to say “of the BMCC OpenLab.” Our team figured out how, in group-funcs.php, but it gets overwritten with each update.

    3) Deleting a group/profile does not explain to the user that any attached site does not get deleted with it. Users currently get this:

WARNING: Deleting this item will completely remove ALL content associated with it. There is no way back, please be careful with this option. I understand the consequences of deletion.

We would like to be able to add to the warning wording for clarity to say: “Warning: Your associated site will NOT be deleted when you delete this profile. To delete a site, go to dashboard > settings > tools > delete site” or, “click here to find out how to delete a site”…)

    4) In all groups, under Invite New Members by email, it says:

“…you may invite people to join the community and this group. > Invite new members to this community.”

We hope to change both instances of “community” to “the BMCC OpenLab.”

    5) In “invite new members by email,” it says “Enter email addresses below, one per line.”

We hope to add “Enter BMCC email addresses below, one per line”

    Thank you!

    Hi Syelle,

None of these can be changed in the Dashboard.

    @cbox_admin
or @r-a-y could probably provide you with more guidance about how to make the customizations.

    Thanks!

    Hi Syelle,

    I just posted a guide here: https://commonsinabox.org/groups/openlab-help-support/forum/topic/what-is-the-correct-way-to-translate-all-cbox-openlab-texts#post-9090

Currently, it requires patching a core CBOX file due to a bug, but then you can use a plugin to easily update the various text strings used across your CBOX site.
