    Hi

I’ve upgraded to Cbox 1.05 & WP 3.6 but my home page  has broken (see screen capture). All other pages are fine.

    Site: http://www.dyslexiatribe.org.uk.

    Help please.

I can confirm that I’m using a child theme. Will I have to reinstall it to overcome this issue?

Did you add any custom code to your child theme? It seems like something has broken for sure. Could you enable WP Debug and tell us what sort of errors are coming up?

Only minor tweeks to css. I’ve restored the files from a backup and it’s ok for now, but without the theme update.

    Debug output:-

Your homepage seems to be fixed now. You found out what caused it? The warnings/notices you posted are harmless so not sure what caused the homepage to break!

    Hi Bowe

I’ve no idea what caused my homepage to break. I got round it by restoring files in wp-content.

I would like to upgrade to 1.05 but I’ve tested the theme on my other site and the same issue appears – only half a homepage.

I’m thinking about setting up a test site to iron out issues. I’ll keep you posted.

    Thanks

    Alan

    Hi Bowe

    I’m running out of ideas.

I noticed the backend theme options were broken so had to reinstall Cbox 1.05. I now have these options but I’m also back to having only half a homepage.

Debug, and please see screen capture attached:-

I’m confused: I see your homepage is working like expected? Have you made changes again? Have you tried disabling the plugins you’re using? It’s hard for us to figure out where this error comes from because your error log does not throw any fatal errors and when I visit your site I see no issues.

I’ve restored wp-content again that’s why it’s working. The strange thing is I have two other sites using the same theme and plugins. I get the broken homepage with them too if I upgrade the theme. I haven’t tried disabling the plugins as yet. Would you advise me not to upgrade to avoid this problem?

I can’t use CBox 1.04 any longer as options don’t work in the backend, so I thought I’d give the upgrade another go. I’ve deactivated all plugins and upgraded the theme, still the problem persists. I’ve left it in debug mode.

    Hi Alan,

One of the CBOX Theme’s slider options was removed in v1.0.5:
    https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/commit/60e0e00d741a7a9a117d2d3f91fcb505f6d39b6d

You’ll have to upgrade your child theme’s slider template so it uses the newer code.

Change /wp-content/themes/cbox-child/engine/includes/feature-slider/template.php to the code here:
    https://raw.github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/master/engine/includes/feature-slider/template.php
