Installing the CBOX Child Theme
We strongly advise you to NEVER make changes to the CBOX Theme in any way. You will lose all these changes when you update CBOX and you’ll end up with a big headache maintaining the theme over time.
It’s good practice to never change the CBOX theme directly, so always work from a Child Theme. If you are not a developer and are following along with a tutorial written on CBOX.org this post will guide you through the basics!
Step 1: Downloading the CBOX Child Theme
Download the pre-made CBOX child theme here:
Step 2: Activating the CBOX Child Theme
Now that you’ve downloaded the CBOX Child Theme you need to upload and activate it. You can either do this through the build-in uploader in WordPress (found under Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload) or through your FTP client.
Once you’ve uploaded the theme you simply need to activate it.
Important: The first time you activate your CBOX Child Theme you need to set up your widgets and your menus again. This in inconvenient but this is sadly how WordPress works!
Step 3: Start making those changes!

Is there some place to get more information about “child themes”? When you say not to change the default theme you mean actually going in and changing the code, right? Not tweaking the CSS from the WordPress dashboard, correct?
Where is the best place to get details about the CBOX theme and to post questions? For example I want to know if there is a simple way to turn off the white drop shadow that seems to be on for most of the site. Would also be great if there were some kind of “cheat” sheet that would help tweak the CSS.

Oops…I found CBOX Theme Developer Guide…and I’m review it now, but still would like to know if questions are best posted here on the forums or is there some place connected to Infinity?
