When you created your slider, are you using the “Show Site Features” or “Show Featured Post from a Category”?  If using the second option, I was wondering if the category is getting translated somewhere along the line, and no match is being found?

Are you using a child theme, @sepidpooy? If not, @bowe, can you say whether these changes will be wiped out the next time the theme is updated?

@sepidpooy & @scottvoth this is cool! I think it would be nice to add a guided tour to the Groups page.
