    Hello OpenLab team,

Can you help me understand why there might be users who tried to register for an account who might be stuck in the “pending” section of the user area in my network admin dashboard? I never thought to check and am realizing that there are 8 users who potentially tried to register and gave up because I didn’t do something. As far as I can tell, I didn’t receive notifications about this and want to do whatever I can to avoid this happening as even more users start to sign up.

    Thank you,

    Mary

    Hi Mary,

There’s nothing that you would have missed here. Users listed in the “pending” section are users who never finished the second step of registration. In the first step they fill out the sign up form, and then in the second step they get a confirmation email to the address they used to sign up. They need to click on the link in the email to finish creating their account.

You won’t receive an email if users never end up finishing the registration process. At City Tech, we usually hear from students or from their professor if they have trouble signing up. This is a good place to check if you do hear user reports of trouble signing up. From here you can resend the activation email or activate the account.

    Best,

    Bree
