Hi again (making a real pest of myself aren’t I),

I’m experiencing a couple of issues related to events/calendar.

On the events entry page I am getting a warning as shown in the screen shot attached, and it does not seem to save location information.

Then on the Group calendar page there are some console errors. (screen cap also attached)

I think that both may be related to mapping providers.

    Hi Troy,

Thanks for reporting this, and the file upload issue!  I’ve taken a quick look but haven’t been able to reproduce.  I’ll take a closer look tomorrow and put in tickets, as needed.

    Thanks!

    Hi Troy,

Apologies for the delay.  I wasn’t able to reproduce your error exactly, but I noticed some issues with the calendar that also appear to be related to Google Maps.  I put in a ticket here: https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/commons-in-a-box/issues/163

    Thanks again!

    Hi Troy,

We have made a number of fixes for the upcoming 1.1.1 maintenance release that should fix the event calendar issues described above.

The only issue I could not duplicate was the console errors in your second screenshot.

If you want to test ahead of time, you can overwrite the /wp-content/themes/openlab-theme/ folder with the following:
    https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/openlab-theme/archive/1.1.1-beta.zip

If you want to view the specific changes, you can view them here:
    https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/openlab-theme/compare/23bf093…4ffe211

Once you’ve updated openlab-theme, for the event location to work, you’ll need a Google Maps API key as described on the “Settings > Event Organiser” page in the WP admin area. If you don’t have a Maps API key, you can sign up for one at the link below:
    https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/?apis=places

Specifically, you’ll need the Places API and not the Maps one. It should be automatically checked when you click on the link above.

Please let us know if you run into any other issues with the event calendar.

Thanks Ray, I appreciate the update. I’ll likely get that in early Monday morning. We have a class going on at the moment, so early monday is a slow time to sort it out.

    Cheers
