Hi all,
Our developer is keenly interested in some documentation on the cbox group site templates (network admin side). He was envisioning them fitting in well somewhere in here: https://commonsinabox.org/group-settings
Thanks for your consideration!
Hi Syelle,
Thanks for reaching out! I just have a few questions to try to better understand your request.
Are you referring to configuring the different site templates for different group types? And could you say a little more about what kind of documentation you’re looking for? Are there specific things your developer is trying to do where additional documentation is needed? Any additional details you can share would be helpful. 🙂
Thanks!
Bree
Chris says,
“Yes, we are referring to the site templates for different group types. The specific thing that we’re interested in is whether it is possible to change which site is used as the template for a group. It doesn’t appear so (you can only go to the dashboard of the site) but we wanted to check to be sure.
“The more general point is that there is no mention of these templates in the Group Settings area of the CBOX-OL Documentation. It would be helpful, especially for those new to WordPress multisite and CBOX-OL, to have some information on the function of the templates and how to edit them.”
Hi Syelle,
Thanks for the additional details!
Each group has one template that is associated only with that group type, so if I understand your question correctly, there’s no way to change which site is used as the template for a group (at least through the dashboard).
There is some documentation about templates at the bottom of this page:
https://commonsinabox.org/group-types
But, we’ll think about how to make it more visible, and can add additional information.
Thanks!
Bree
Okay, thanks, Bree! I’ll pass this on.
