    @cbox_admin

    It would be GREAT for the user experience if the group descriptions could be created/edited at the front end with   fancy /advanced editor!

    Groups are showcases of a community and enable ‘parts’ to be visible to each other. Communication between silos is what many of us are working to improve, and it’s a hard bit!

    and… calling to your ubiquity here Boone, if project descriptions and icons in Collabpress could be made a bit flexible in the layout to be made attractive, it would be GREAT too. Projects are showcases as well. Look at this site here: http://alveolus.fr/: that would be an end destination, projects as ‘cards’… Perhaps for a start, an avatar to replace the grey square and some fancy editing of the project title would be good (I’m in convo with Eric on github for the Wysiwyg editor in project description), plus the turning on off of tasks. Right now, that’s what we get (and the link color I have added in html!): http://commonsabundance.net/groups/institutionalizing-the-commons/projects/ plus click on any of the projects to see the description and layout of tasks…

    It’s a hard sell for me to our team leaders…

    In the meantime, where do I find the group edit template to change the textarea into a wp_editor, and what code do I replace? Some tipping on that would be cool!

    Hi Helene,

    slaFFik wrote a premium plugin to do it…

    http://codecanyon.net/item/bp-extend-groups-description/2085768?sso?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=slaFFik

    …following the support topics I would say it’s not ready for BP 1.7.x but could be an idea to pay these 8 bucks and ask for an update.

    @helenef It’s not quite a solution for what you’re after, but you can use the Visual Editor for group descriptions in WP Admin. Edit the relevant group from the groups list that BP provides.

    Thanks Hans.

    I also found: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/buddypress-groups-extras

    Is anyone using it?

    Ah @haystack, our posts crossed. I actually want members of our community to nicely present their groups by themselves without accessing the dashboard… So it’s really on the front end that I need that.

    @helenef The Group Extras plugin is also slaFFik’s work. He’s really dedicated to BP and doing a great job. I already tried Group Extras on my site http://www.info.ch and it could be a solution. But compared to what you (and I) are looking for it could be an «overkill». Yes, it should be a frontend thing…

    Thanks @schwarzaufweiss. The extra pages ‘all in one’, i.e. with advanced editor and providing access to multiple pages form one place via a horizontal menu comes as a nice complement, and does the job. Overkill, I’m not sure. Though there are a few glitches in the presentation…
