    Hi folks:

I apologize if this is a repeat question. I’m wondering if anyone has tried adding the “WP Voting” plugin with cbox. I’m interested in using this for a class assignment, but got held up with the following error messages:

<b>Warning</b>: call_user_func() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, cannot access protected method Plugin_Dependencies::deactivate_conflicting() in <b>/home/sadiron/www/gbdh/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/lib/wp-plugin-dependencies/plugin-dependencies.php</b> on line <b>509</b>

<b>Warning</b>: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/sadiron/www/gbdh/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/lib/wp-plugin-dependencies/plugin-dependencies.php:509) in<b>/home/sadiron/www/gbdh/wp-includes/pluggable.php</b> on line <b>899</b>

I guess I don’t want to push forward if this something that is not possible in cbox yet without me having to mess with the theme, etc.

    Any general thoughts?

Hi Chuck – I just installed WP-Voting on a test site and it seems to be working fine.  The issues that you are facing seem to be warnings rather than errors.  Are you seeing them on your front end?  If so, you might want to read through the following post –

    https://commonsinabox.org/groups/help-support/forum/topic/error-when-creating-a-group/

It might provide some insight about how to deal with warnings (vs. actual errors).

    Hi Scott:

First, thanks for taking the time.  I tried to plug ahead anyway, and the problem I have is that I’m never able to see any actual voting button(s), even after adding the default button style to the css for good measure.  I made sure voting was turned on in the settings, then I even made a new post just in case the voting would not automatically include old ones, but no dice.  I’m wondering if it’s a comment policy issue, or maybe something else to do with where widgets are. I’m not sure.

Okay, I just tired a different plugin called WTI Like Post, and that works. So, with serendipity in play, I’ll roll with that and see how it goes!  Again, thanks for taking the time.

In terms of the WP-Voting – I had that problem at first – but then noticed that you need to add a [shortcode] to get it to appear.  Anyway, glad that you found a plugin that works!

Hi Chuck – Sorry for the delayed response here (which may be irrelevant because you have already found an alternative solution!) but it looks like the warning you received was due to our plugin dependency logic detecting an incompatibility between certain plugin combinations on your site. That suggests that perhaps you’d removed (intentionally or otherwise) some plugin required by Commons In A Box during your testing, which caused a chain reaction that led to the warning you saw. That said, I’m not totally clear what that plugin might have been, given that, from what I gather, the site is working properly now.

I guess I’d chalk it up to a glitch. If you run into similar issues, please do post back with details, and we can debug from there.

Thanks for posting about the warning, Chuck.

I missed this while I was doing some updates to remove these warnings. I’ve just fixed this in the bleeding version of CBOX.

    Thanks again!
