What happens if I uninstall Commons-in-a-Box?

Does that get rid of all of the plugins (BuddyPress, bbPress, and all the companion plugins) at once?

Can I uninstall Commons-in-a-Box without uninstalling all the plugins?

Will the groups I’ve already created disappear into the ether (like, if I re-install BuddyPress conventionally, so that it appears in the regular WordPress plugin list, will the groups still be there?)?

What are the ramifications of uninstalling Commons-in-a-Box?

My situation is that I’ve got Commons-in-a-Box successfully installed and running (no users yet), but I’m trying out a theme that may suit my project better than the CBox theme.  I’d like to keep all of the plugins Commons-in-a-Box installed, but I’d really like them to appear in my regular WordPress plugins list, as that would be easier to manage.

Hi @melynda Melynda –

You can still use CBOX with a different theme.  We provide a default theme to make it easier to get started – but feel free to try out other themes.  Let us know if you have any problems.  Thanks.

As Scott said, you are able to change the current theme to whatever theme you desire.
