    Hi, all!

    Is there any simple way to customize the look and feel of the notification emails sent out? I’ve attached an example of the Weekly Summary of Group Topics email as an example. It’s pretty unsightly and makes users concerned their receiving spam.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    If you’re using the latest version of CBOX and have upgraded CBOX, you should have received an update for BP Group Email Subscription (v3.7.0).

    Digest emails should look like this:

    By the looks of things, are you using a custom email plugin? If so, which one(s)?

    Joanna, I notice that your screen capture is displaying the html tags as text rather than rendering them. This could be a simply matter of selecting HTML in your email client.

    Also, in your main site dashboard should be an Email item that lets you customize the text of many emails with embedded tags for personalization, along with a Customize option that let you change aspects of the design for HTML email.

    Thank you both for the help!

    @Ray – we use Mailgun.

    Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to make updates…we attempted to do so on our dev site a few weeks ago, but the dev site crashed. We’ve been afraid to make the updates in the prod environment due to the dev site crashing. We are currently looking to hire someone on a part-time basis to help with these kinds of issues since my expertise is not in this area.

    I posted the RFP for that position in the CBOX Developers forum – we really need someone!

    Thanks!

    It looks like the problem is coming from the Mailgun plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/html-rendered-as-plaintext-in-some-emails/
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mailgun-emails-sending-as-plain-text/

    From that forum thread, it appears the latest version of Mailgun might fix the problem. However, it may not and might require some additional work by Mailgun to fix this.

    Thank you, Ray!! I’ll look into this using the links you provided and see what I can do.
