    Hi, I am getting this fault :

    BuddyPress Reply By Email cannot initialize. Please navigate to “BuddyPress > Reply By Email” to fill in the required fields and address the webhost warnings.

    BP Reply By Email Settings

    Error: Unable to connect to inbox – Can’t connect to gmail-imap.l.google.com,993: Connection timed out

     

    and in the settings area for it, it just keeps returning to this page reporting the problem

     

    any advice appreciated ,

    Hi Mark,

    Your host might be blocking port 993:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11110740/how-to-download-email-with-php
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11772240/connecting-to-gmail-imap-php-couldnt-open-stream

    Try getting your host to unblock that port.

    Also, as mentioned in the documentation, if you are using a shared host, you probably won’t be able to use Reply By Email.
