With a standard install using the CBOX theme, it seems that there are two pages called “register”, one with a lower case and one with an upper case first letter “r” that causes some confusion when trying to access the page directly as a url in a browser or widget (i.e. using the BuddyPress Login Widget).  The upper case seems to go to a standard blank page called Register (the same one viewable via the dashboard).  The lower case version goes to the registration page, I presume by way of some PHP call.  I noticed that you avoided this in commonsinabox.org by having the registration page called “signup”.

    Hi Gary,

Login to the WP dashboard, click on the “Pages” tab.

Check to make sure you don’t have duplicate “Register” pages. The other thing I can think of is the BuddyPress Login Widget might be using the wrong code.

Lastly, to rename the registration page slug, navigate to the “Pages” tab, find the “Register” page and then edit the page slug to whatever you want.

CBOX has its roots in the CUNY Academic Commons, which in turn was made possible through funding from The City University of New York itself.
