    Hi Everyone.

I have been dreaming of developing a buddypress site geared to my students for a very long time. I started working on it today and found CBOX. THANK YOU for creating this. I am very excited.

However – I am a bit lost. I am pretty adept at wordpress and I really prefer to use the dynamix theme as I will be using several of its features for this new site.

That said – I installed CBOX but I am just not sure how to make the most of it yet. I read the documentation and it was very helpful but without using CBOX theme, the next steps are not obvious. Are there any other tutorials available to help me get started.

    thanks again.

    Hi Simon @sasenzon

We don’t really have documentation for using CBOX with other themes since the experience varies greatly.  I looked briefly at your Dynamix Theme and it looks very nice.  What do you see when you click on the BuddyPress menu option?  Perhaps you need to go to Settings>>BuddyPress to configure how your theme interacts with BuddyPress and CBOX?

    Hi Scott.

Dynamix is designed to integrate with buddypress quite easily.

I guess I just need to tinker with the look and feel some more.

My initial plan was to integrate my buddypress site with my moodle site using amember.

Looking at the amember site yesterday – I see that i need to disable the buddypress registration page.

Will this interfere with CBOX features for user sign-up?

The site I am launching is a paid membership site for my students worldwide. They can pay a monthly fee and access short video courses (this is one reason why Dynamix is perfect as it has many gallery options). However – if they want to complete there continuing education requirements for re-licensure, then they pay for the entire year and log into my moodle site (where my current courses are offered).

I want CBOX to be a main feature of membership. I know it sounds complicated but I think it will work well.

Here is the template of the site. I just started building it: http://www.institutechiro.com

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Simon @sasenzon

I took a look at amember – I don’t think you should have any trouble with using it with CBOX, but am pinging @haystack to see if he sees any concerns.  Good luck with your site – it’s looking great already!

CBOX does not interfere with the registration process at all.

I took a look at the Amember page and you should be able to just disable registration on your WordPress install and let aMember handle user access.

Simon: I agree with Ray – I see no special reason to use the CBOX theme. However, you may find that there are places where your theme doesn’t style elements the way you want… I’m thinking of BuddyPress Docs and other plugins, which aren’t part of BuddyPress core and therefore may not be covered by your theme’s integration.

    Thanks Christian.

I have contacted the dynamix developer to see about integration. I want the best of all worlds, the docs option especially as well as visual composer and slide set manager. Well keep you posted.

    Howdy.

Well, I took for first step and loaded the CBOX theme. The first thing I tried to do was upload my own logo but when I click upload, I get a shaded grey screen and I can’t access anything except the worpress menu. I am probably doing something obviously wrong but I can’t figure out what. Help. Thanks.

I tried loading the CBOX theme but I couldn’t access my media library.

I will try to just integrate it with Dynamix.

Is there a way to still get some of the features of the theme like the icons?

    thanks.

    Hey Simon @sasenzon

I know the dev team is planning to release a new version of CBOX soon.  It will include a bunch of fixes  to known theme problems.  You can download the new, working code base at GitHub – or else wait until the next CBOX release comes out.

Let us know about issues you see with the new version.  Thanks so much!
