    This error came when I load the site after attempting to update the BuddyPress plugin.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_get_option() in /nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/includes/frontend.php on line 62

    I’ve disabled every BuddyPress plugin there is by renaming the plugin folder to a temporary name (-tmp-*). And it’s the same issue.

    When I hide that line 62, I get this:

    Fatal error: Class ‘CBox_Frontend’ not found in /nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/loader.php on line 148

    When I disable the frontend.php, I got this at first and now I get the next one

    Warning: require(/nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/includes/frontend.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/loader.php on line 114

    And when I disable Commons-in-a-box plugin folder or loader.php, I get this:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_loggedin_user_domain() in /nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/themes/cbox-child/engine/includes/custom.php on line 8

    I feel like I’m on a chase of disabling and have disabled most of the plugins and all the recent ones. It seems to be a problem with BuddyPress or Commons In a Box?

    Suggestions?

    My site WritersTemple is down

    Thank you.

    I’m also getting this.

    Fatal error: Class ‘CBox_Frontend’ not found in /nfs/c02/h08/mnt/19001/domains/writerstemple.com/html/wp-content/plugins/commons-in-a-box/loader.php on line 148

    Would installing an earlier version of Commons In a Box help? Or BuddyPress? It’s all disabled! Does it shift the Commons in a Box code?

    Hi Denise – Sorry you are having these issues.  Did you update to the new version of CBOX or did you just update BuddyPress?  It’s better to use CBOX to manage its underlying plugins (including BuddyPress) so that you are ensured that the various versions are compatible.

    @haystack
    @r-a-y – can you please advise Denise on how to get her site back up?  Thanks!

    Good to know, yes, I’d love to get my site back up, I was just implementing a lot of new spaces, groups and information and had yet to back it up.

    denise – How did you encounter this error?

    It sounds like something happened when you attempted to update BuddyPress.

    Try the following:

    * Deactivate Commons In A Box. Revert your modifications to CBOX or re-install CBOX from the wordpress.org repository.
    * Re-install and activate BuddyPress.
    * Reactivate Commons In A Box.

    See if that fixes your issues.

    Thanks. It happened when I was updating plugins, I updated BuddyPress I believe, I was just updating a bunch of them, and I think it hung on BuddyPress.

    So to reiterate, go into FTP and Deactivate Commons in a Box plugin. And reinstall from the CBOX plugin via wordpress repository through FTP. Since my data is in a db, will it stay in tact when I reinstall the plugins?

    Yes, that sounds about right.

    You shouldn’t lose any data.
