Hi, I’m really grateful for this forum.

    1. When a new member registers upon completion it’s asking them for a verification code. Up comes a box with a GUI field asking them for a code.

That would be cool but no code is given in the email they are sent.

    How can I fix this?

    2. There is a huge space under the slider. How do I add text into that area?

I have been all over the site looking for how to do it but must be missing it somewhere. There is a widget that says it should do it but when I add test text to it nothing shows up anywhere.

I know I must just not be seeing it somehow.

    Thank you, Patrick

    Hi Patrick –

    I’ll let Ray ( @r-a-y) answer #1 cause I’m not sure.

For #2 – that area is called the slider header.  You can see the homepage layout here – https://commonsinabox.org/documentation/cbox-slider.  To control it go to Appearance>>CBOX Theme Options>>Home Page>>Slider Header

However, there is currently a bug that’s keeping it from displaying.  You can track its resolution at https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/issues/113  Developers are actively working on it.

Fir #1 Thanks, it needs to be fixed but I went in and removed that text for now with the box for them to fill out.

It’s not great but it at least keeps them moving instead of stopping there and putting in a ticket.

#2 ok, so long as they know about it. That’s where I was going when I put in text. It didn’t show up so I thought I was wrong.

I can’t duplicate this bug. I created a new account to register with and I received an email that had an activation link.

The link should look like this:
    example.com/activate/?key=ACTIVATIONKEY

Are you saying your new signups do not receive any email or that they do not have an activation link?

If they do see that link, this might be related to this BuddyPress ticket:
    https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4230

Can you verify what type of server setup your WP install is on?
