Sweet! Thank you!
I found a bug in the Group Announcements Plugin. Took a while but I narrowed it down. For some reason when this plugin is installed it makes it impossible for any user other than admin to post to groups from the activity page(ie basic subscribers for some reason do not see the option for their groups anymore). The only thing that shows up on the activity page is the select box with option, My Profile. But when I deactivate this plugin all the group names appear in the drop down again. I tried this on 2 separate servers just to be sure and got the same result. Any help would be appreciated.
WP: 3.5.1
Commons in a box: 1.0.2
Buddypress: 1.6.4
Hi Spencer – Thanks for dropping in. What you’ve described is not a bug in the plugin – it’s the very *purpose* of the plugin. The core idea is that the ability to post to group activity streams can have the result of fracturing conversation within a group (in particular when you’re using group forums). The Group Announcements plugin fixes this problem by removing the ability for regular group members to post to the group activity stream. That stream is then repurposed as Announcements.
