Maker Commons – A Community of Makers
Spearheaded by Tim Owens, instructional technology specialist in the Division of Teaching and Learning Technologies at the University of Mary Washington, Maker Commons is using Commons In A Box to grow a community of open individuals anxious to share “experiences, wisdom, failures, and successes surrounding maker culture and the DIY ethos.”
Designed along the lines of his “Makerspace,” which fosters a community “hackers, makers, and tinkerers” by providing a physical space on campus, Maker Commons provides a virtual space for a “maker” community to grow, collaborate, and share.
The site is just getting started and is open to everyone “passionate about bringing hands-on learning to our schools and communities across the world.”

Hi that’s a very nice homepage slice! I’m trying to get the left hand site to work with a video… it’s coming nicely…
Now I need to have a nice registration/login widget on the right…
I can handle the title & text… But how do I get the Join/register and login buttons with the colors they have (green)? Other examples have a register/green button and ) or a orange login button…
