I am fairly certain I have seen this posted in the forum but I just can’t find the answer. How do I post a youtube video into the slider. I have got as far as it appearing in the admin video options box under the main box when I have added a featured slider but I can’t work out how to make it appear in the frontend homepage slider. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

    Hi Sam –

You can post video by going to the Featured Slider>> Add Slide – (give the slide a name)  – and then scroll down to the Video options.  There, you should answer “yes” to the question do you want to  “Embed a Video.”   And that is pretty much it.  You just need to supply the video’s URL.

Let me know if you have any problems.  I just followed this process and it worked for me.

Thanks for the speedy reply Scott, some how or other if I follow those instructions, I publish to a separate page but not to the homepage slides. I found that if I then set a random picture to slide image > set featured image, the random picture also appears on separate page with video below but the video does then appear in the homepage slides (minus random picture). I’m sure I am doing something wrong but I guess it’s a success of sorts!

Hi Sam – is it possible that in your Slider Set Up (Appearance>>CBOX Theme Options>>Homepage>>Slider Setup) you have selected “Show Featured Posts from a Category”?  If so, maybe try the other option, “Show Site Features.”

When you want to display a video, you should not assign a featured image to the slide.  Just the video.  Maybe that is the reason?   If you are still struggling, please send a screenshot and/or a link so we can see the issue a little more clearly.  Thanks a lot!
