I haven’t seen any reports of conflict, so I was just wondering if everyone/anyone has successfully updated to the latest WordPress or should I hold out for the next cbox update and do it all in one?

I was wondering the same. I can tell you that in the past non-maintenance upgrades (e.g. 3.x) have broken components of Commons in a Box; whereas, maintenance upgrades (e.g. 3.8.x) have been fine.

I believe there is also a new major version of BuddyPress that has been released.

    I plan to wait.

    HI All,

I would advise waiting, as part of what we offer through CBOX is the
stability of the system through various component upgrades. It does take us
time to ensure that everything is working correctly, of course, but the
benefit is that new versions of CBOX should not break your site!

    Best,

    Matt

I’m not aware of any specific changes in WP 3.9 that would cause problems with the Commons In A Box suite. That said, if you’re a non-technical person, and you do not have a development enviroment for testing, you might consider holding off on the upgrade just to be cautious.

Thanks for the replies, as I fall into the ‘muddling through’ category, I shall hold off until the commons release. That being the case, should I also put the other plugins gathering in my admin ‘update’ area on hold as well so as not to throw everything out of sync?

I copied my plugins and themes over to a trial site in order to try the 3.9 update and all seems to be working fine.

We have been running 3.9/CBOX in production since 4/22 without any issues.
