I must say that I am really enjoying this project – as long as I can get it to work. And thats the problem. I have the theme installed on three sites, shared hosting, different accounts (one for work, two personal) but otherwise identical, same provider etc…

One site works perfectly (luckily the one for work), with the other two I have a number of (identical) issues.

Firstly the theme itself, now I have seen this mentioned here somewhere, but haven’t seen a solution. Next to the menus in the community I have numbers and other characters instead of icons. I have tried everything I can think of, deleted, reinstalled, disabled all plugins (except the cbox ones), it just refuses to show the icons.

Secondly, on my personal sites I cannot get the Wiki extension to work, it just returns a page not found…

    Here the details:

I would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction as far as the theme issue of letters and numbers showing up instead of the icons….

    Happy Christmas to all 😉

Hi Dave – can you check out https://commonsinabox.org/groups/help-support/forum/topic/problem-with-sub-menu-and-widgets/

It seems like James had a similar issue, but was able to fix.  If this doesn’t work for you, let us know.

    Your site looks great!

Not really being an expert on this sort of thing, but what I have noticed is that it seems to be looking in the wrong directory for some reason. The following are taken from my profile page … (workshop being the directory in which WordPress is installed – should not be in there !! …)

    [08:08:29.448] GET http://my.music-movement.com/workshop/wp-content/themes/cbox-theme/assets/fonts/iconsweets-webfont.woff [HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found 1590ms]

    Hope this might be helpful

    Cheers

    Hi @Dave and @James –

Thanks for the information.  I opened up a ticket on this issue here https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/issues/107

The latest upgrade fixed my issues with the icons not appearing correctly. Thank you!

One thing you may want to be aware of:

When I upgraded cbox it caused a fatal error in the BuddyPress Media plugin and crashed the site. I had to go into ftp and delete the plugin file from the server to bring the site back up. Not a problem for me as it is a test site, but could cause problems on a live site.

The update to 1.0.1 seems to have solved the issues with the icons not showing up!

Thanks to all concerned for their hard work 🙂
