Hi, I’m struggling to work out a solution, so I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have students who want to post dissertation surveys and get other students input. At the moment it appears in the activity stream but if they haven’t connected with others it tends to get lost. I have tried automatic friends but then every time a new user registers the activity stream gets clogged up with 157 separate lines of x is now friends with y.

My forum hasn’t really taken off, the students prefer the ‘whats up?’ activity box or chat rooms, in addition when comments are made on the activity stream it doesn’t bump to the top. Does anyone have any ideas on what would be the best way encourage this collaboration and how to get topic being discussed bumped to the top? Commons in a box seems to have a forum but no obvious ‘all members’ activity stream, do forum posts appear in the activity? Any advice would be great. Thanks,
