    Hi there

Is anyone else having slider issues after the latest CBOX and WP updates. My videos (content) are being pulled in over the slider image.

Yes.  Using WP3.5.2 and CBOX1.o5 on a MAMP local installation.  I found that (1) loading of photos on the slider was noticeably slower (2) the captions came up as […] and (3) at least one photo came up with a different crop that decapitated the individuals.  See attached screenshot

    MySchoolStuff,

Tried connecting as friend to send you a side message to no avail.  I noticed you also had slider caption issues as least from my Safari browser.

(PS, thanks for the link via your site to patrickjmt.com…  he should be as popular as khanacademy.com)

patrickjmt.com is awesome. Hopefully they will get the funding that khanacademy.com got.

Yes, by the looks of things we have the same issues with the slider. I’m using chrome

    Hi @1two3,

One of the most requested features we’ve received was the ability to add HTML to the slide captions. We’ve added some code that does this, but this means that it ALSO adds the html for stuff like images and videos. In your case this means that the video’s you have embedded at the beginning of your post have been included.

The next release of CBOX will completely overhaul the slider and fix this issue whilst still giving you full control over the captions displayed in the slider.

In the mean time I’d advise you to add a short introduction text (this will also show up in the slide caption) and then display the actual video a bit later. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@gdavis0007: We’re still using the same script for the slider and maybe the longer loading time was related to lifting the limit of slides shown. The [..] is introduced because of the changes made to how captions are made. If you have any feedback on what you’d like to see in the updated slider you can leave your ideas here: https://commonsinabox.org/groups/cbox-developers/forum/topic/cleaning-up-the-slider/

Thanks Bowe.  I found I could get the captions to display by deleting and re-adding the Site Feature.  However the “post title” comes up ok but the “post text” shows “text […]”.  If there is no text in the post there is still a line with […], at least in my setup.

With respect to loading time.  I think version 1.04 probably waited to show the site until the slider was loaded. I noticed it was a bit slow in the past but didn’t worry about it.   Now the site loads quickly and the slider is slow.  However, this is likely user error, I must have been lazy as the photos are way to large to use in the slider.

The next version will also have a new auto resizing feature that will make this a problem of the past. You can even set a custom image width and height. It will be pretty cool 🙂
