    Anyone else see this problem?

I am currently testing upgrades to WordPress 3.6 & CBOX 1.0.5 on a staging server hosted with WPEngine.

After upgrading, the site features slider does not display the excerpt text. See attachments (slider1 – before, slider2 – after).

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Lucas,

Since the latest upgrade the slider has been wonky. We made some changes to how the slide text is being created and this causes some issues. We did this because a lot of people requested for being able to use HTML in the slide text, and using the excerpt prevented that. So we wrote a custom function that generates a caption text from the_content but if your slide only has an excerpt there would be no text! So that is what’s going on basically 🙂

The good news is that I’m almost done completely redoing the slider and we should release an update next week 🙂

Hi @bowe. Any updates on the slider issues?

I’ve been bouncing around the forums trying to sort out the current state of affairs with the upgrade to CBOX 1.0.5. There are a number of open discussions/posts/comments about issues with the slider. Here are the threads I’m following right now:

    Hey Lucas (@visionsynergy),

Yes there is! We’re currently testing a new version of the CBOX Theme which incorporates all the new slider features and fixes. You’re welcome to help us test it so we can hopefully release it asap. You can find the theme here: https://github.com/BoweFrankema/cbox-theme/tree/slider. Here’s a direct download link

If you’d like to test the new slider functionality I’d advise to do that on a local server or staging server.

    – Download the theme
    – Unzip the file and rename the folder to cbox-theme
    – Upload to wp-content/themes/
    – Activate
    – Test New Slider magic!

    Any feedback would be welcome!

@bowe, are the new slider features part of the CBOX 1.0.5.1 upgrade?

@geoffreysfmac-com: If you made any changes to the slider template file yes!

    @visionsynergy
: I’ll get in touch with Boone and Ray and see if we can get it into this release. It’s been tested so I think it’s ready 🙂

Hi, just to say I’ve updated our dev site directly to 1.0.5.1. I have the […] beneath the current post title, and something more that: The read later as pdf icon from the Read Offline plugin appears now in the text zone as well.

I Just wanted to say here, that in the previous version I managed to overcome some of the problems of the slider by creating the feature post and then redirecting it to a blog post or any other URL via the Page Links To plugin.
