Profile updates

    At the moment the only profile updates that show up in my activity stream are the changed avatar. Is that the intended behaviour or have I missed something out in the set up? I am using extended profiles, would that adversely affect it?

    Hi Sam @investa –

    I tested this too, and got the same results.  (I don’t have extended profiles installed.)  I think this functionality is part of BuddyPress.  It looks like @r-a-y added some code to BuddyPress awhile back to get avatar changes into the activity stream.  See – http://bp-tricks.com/snippets/adding-a-new-activity-stream-entry-when-a-user-changes-his-avatar/

    Not sure if there is any work ongoing to get other profile changes into the activity stream.

    Thanks Scott for the clarification and the bp-tricks link. If there is a request pot could I throw that suggestion in. In our case profile updates are normally good news so it would be nice to share it in activity.

    You might try BP Support – http://buddypress.org/support/ – You’ll need to register  (hover over Anonymous User icon to register) and then enter your issue/suggestion.
