    Greetings again.

I am building my CBOX site as a private scholarly forum for members. I understand that if members create groups that are hidden or private those will not be seen on the internet.

If they create a public group though – these will be seen? As well as the forums?

So these would not only be public to other members but also to trolls on the internet?

The member software I am setting up for login and registration allows me to make every group and forum members only view but to do so I will need to manually set up each one as they are created. I fear this might be unmanageable if we grow fast.

Has anybody else dealt with this issue?

Since my commons will be for professionals (chiropractors) I do not want public access.

I could however make the entire site password protected as another option (and perhaps have a second domain name as the landing page).

I would love any thoughts on this from those of you who know how this might work in practice.

    Thank you.

    Simon

If anyone else is dealing with this privacy issue I have resolved it by creating a subdomain and putting buddypress on that. I am able to make the entire blog private using amember. I will use the main domain for info and new announcements. Thanks again.
