Hi, Is Commons in a Box suitable for a paid membership site?

if so, I presume I need to add a plugin, to restrict access to different levels of membership – is there any one that is recommended, or known to work ?

It is for a fitness exercise type concept – similar to Zumba, which will have multiple locations, and I need a Coaches area , plus also a discussion forum and community that can be part seen by the public, but opened up once a membership is bought .

The main site will be in a seperate wordpress install and is here http://www.cobrafituk.co.uk

any hints, tips, help advice or pointers welcome.

My other solution would be to install forum software, like phpbb in a folder. But, i do like the social network aspect of Cbox !

    regards

    Mark

    Hi Mark –

You are free to use CBOX in any way you choose.  Many CBOX sites serve “closed” communities – i.e. registration is limited to a certain set of people.  I am not really aware of any organization using the platform for commerce – it wasn’t designed for that – but I’m sure you can shop around and find plugins to manage that aspect of your site.  Good luck – and maybe others on this forum might have suggestions as well.
