Hi all — Is there an easy way to make all CBOX activity private (member activity, member lists) so that it is only viewable to members once logged in? Additionally, can activity and member pages be private as well? Currently, when these pages are made private BuddyPress functionality shuts down.  Helping out with a CBOX install at UCSD.  Thanks!

    Hi Erin @eglass

I think you can use the built-in privacy options of WordPress to make the site only visible to logged in users.  You can use private (or hidden) groups to further hide content from logged in users.

Thanks for your help, Scott. Interestingly enough, it does not seem that the WordPress site privacy options actually make the activity and group pages private (if one has the link). And, if you try to make these pages private, the BuddyPress functionality is disabled. I don’t think it’s a huge issue, but it does seem worth considering for future releases as privacy is an important factor for many educators setting up online spaces.

    Hi Erin,

Can you confirm that you are not logged in when checking those links to BP activity pages on a password-protected site?

    Best,

    Matt
