I’ve uploaded files with Plugin BP Group Documents.

Opening an uploaded file type .docx thru internet explorer reults in a mass of garbled symbols.

This is the file location to see.

Opening an uploaded file type .xlsx and .pdf thru internet explorer is fine.

    All open fine thru Chrome.

I found this post to tweak line 115 in include > filters.php (v1.7)

In my install of CBOX, I don’t have capability to edit plugins. (how do I get that permission)

I’ve got all updated CBOX and Plugins.

    Hi Perry –

I noticed on my test site that the file chooser is scrunched on BP Group Docs, and have mentioned it in the GitHub issue here: https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/issues/229

Many CBOX users use BuddyDrive – and I tested it in Internet Explorer and it works fine there.  That might be an alternative option.  https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddydrive/

The support site for BP-Group-Documents can be found here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-group-documents  You might want to open up an issue there.

If you can’t edit the plugin – it could be a problem with file permissions.  Here is a link that might help: http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins_Editor_Screen

CBOX has its roots in the CUNY Academic Commons, which in turn was made possible through funding from The City University of New York itself.
