I have a multi-site WP 4.2.2. install with the most recent Commons in a Box plug (and default theme)

I am struggling to make my site

    https://disasterblog.org

look like the CUNY Academic Commons homepage

    https://commons.gc.cuny.edu/

    Some basic questions:
    1. How to get the google search tool at the top?
    2. How to get the “Getting Started” and “Featured Videos” grey words at the top (along with the corresponding text).?
    3. How to get the groups icon and peoples icon to appear
    4. How to get the banner and information appear at the BOTTOM of the page

I used the CBOX template because I thought it would be easy to get my page appear exactly like the CUNY one (smile)

    5. I find the black background to be painful on the eyes. Is it possible to use this background since it is from “Infinity” themes

I just noticed that my site is

http://www.disasterblog.org (I suppose I should figure out how to make it https://disasterblog.org)

To avoid confusion I am including a screen shot of my homepage. I assume everyone is familiar with the CUNY academic commons homepage

On another note, I seem to have these two plugins (installed as a default somehow). I assume I can safely delete them

@jklevy The CUNY Academic Commons does not use the same theme as CBOX. You may be able to adapt the CBOX theme to look more like the CAC site by creating a CBOX child theme, but it’ll require a lot of customisation.

If you want to use the image from the Infinity site, I would contact them and ask.

Finally, yes you can remove those plugins if you wish to do so.

CBOX has its roots in the CUNY Academic Commons, which in turn was made possible through funding from The City University of New York itself.
