Hi, posted this as an update, but realized it should maybe go here.
I just installed Cbox and am having problems with the theme. When I go to configure theme and click on ’Start’ or ’Options’ I get taken to an empty page with a ’0’. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling but the same issue occurs.
Sarah
Hi Sarah – Sorry you are having these issues. As I understand from your note, the theme is working fine until you try to go to the configurations panel? Which browser are you using? Is it possible to try a different browser to see if that helps? And are you running on a localhost or regular host? Sorry for all the questions – but I think I will write up a ticket for the developers once I get the details. The admin screen uses a lot of javascript – just wondering if you have any settings that may be preventing it from doing its thing. Thanks!
Hi Scott, thanks for the reply. Yes, the theme seems to be working until I try to configure it (wateryouthnetwork dot org), the theme options buttons don’t work (Start, options, dev docs etc.). I have tried using chrome and firebox, but it is the same problem (don’t know if there are settings I should change?). I also deleted most of the plugins we had to see if that helped. The site is using a regular host. I can send message you the log in info if it would help.

Thanks Sarah – I will open up a ticket on GitHub and the theme developers will take a look. They might get back to you with additional questions.
Hi Sarah – Do you by any chance have Firebug installed on your Firefox browser or Inspector for Chrome or Safari? I spoke to @cbox_admin and he felt that there might be issues with loading javascript assets. If it is possible to turn on one of these debug tools in a browser and see what errors are coming out – it would be a big help in locating the issue.
Hi Sarah – don’t bother with the debug tools – I just got notes from two theme developers and it seems that they are aware of the issue – and have already fixed it! The change will probably be pushed up to the WP Repository early next week when we release the next version of CBOX.
If you are interested in the details:
We figured this issue out yesterday, and it really bizarre. For some reason the apache mod_security module has a filename pattern which blocks the file name “jquery.cookie.js”
Since lots of hosts have that module enabled (which is a pointless POC btw) the script is aborting and the AJAX post is not sending all of the required parameters.
We renamed the script to something else in Infinity bleeding in hopes of resolving this issue.
Hi Scott and team, Thanks for the fast response and great to know there is a solution!
Theme version 1.0.2 just installed from wordpress dashboard.
I am having this exact problem mentioned in this post from three months ago. Is the fix in 1.0.2?
thanks.
Hi
I am having the same problem. I have left another forum message updating our journey to this point. In short after upgrading from the beta theme we lost the ability to configure the theme – the layout of the theme options was all messed up. After some messing around we are now at the point where all the options have disappeard and only 0 remains.
Any help would be very welcome.
thanks Kevin
A couple of things you can try:
* Delete your cookies. Then, log back in to the WP dashboard and navigate to “Appearance > CBOX Theme Options” and see if that fixes the problem.
* Upgrade to the latest version of Commons In A Box v1.0.2 (the plugin) and upgrade the theme through the CBOX dashboard if you haven’t already done so. I ran into this issue because I was running an older version of CBOX on one of my local development testing rigs and this fixed the issue for me.
* Delete /wp-content/themes/cbox-theme/
and reinstall the theme through the CBOX Dashboard.
If you have tried all these things, let me know and I’ll raise an issue with the theme developers.
