Hi. I understand that there’s a plugin included with CBOX — More Blog Privacy Options? — that provides, well, more blog privacy options. I have created a blog on our CBOX install that has its privacy settings set to allow visibility only to registered users that I add to the hidden group whose blog it is. That works, except for one thing: the Recent Networkwide Blog Posts widget picks up posts from that blog. Can it be set not to do so?
Thanks again!
Hi Kathleen,
If you’re an admin on the site in question, you’ll see items in the sitewide activity feed that won’t be visible to users with lesser privileges (or to visitors who have no privileges). You might try logging out and seeing whether the blog posts still appear in the stream. If you’ve already done that, please let us know.
Best,
Matt
Hi, Matt. That seems in fact to be the case: I can see everything when I’m logged in, but when I’m not, the posts vanish from the Recent Networkwide Blog Posts feed and from the Activity stream.
I did have a user on the pre-alpha site who was able to see a post in Recent Networkwide Blog Posts that he shouldn’t have been able to see, but perhaps you guys took care of that between then and now. I’ll let you know if any other weirdness arises — thanks for the response!
Great — thanks, Kathleen. Please do let us know whether you notice any other issues.
