I would like to have the Group Announcements be available as a “stand alone” item, so I can display them somewhere else on the site (or on another site?)….and/or I would like to reduce the Activity page to default to Show: Announcements, rather than defaulting to Show: Everything.

Plan A – Announcements feed is totally separate, and can display via shortcode or javascript (or ??)

This would be ideal, so I can post the group admin feed at the top of the Forums page, or the top of the Activity page (with other activity below it) or even feed Announcements to another website.

Plan B – Change ‘Show:’ dropdown to default the display to “Announcements”

I have found many tutorials that explain how to get the Activity stream in Buddypress to display only this or that portion of the stream (e.g., only updates, only friends, etc.) but my goal is to make the dropdown menu default setting “Announcements” (which currently isn’t even an option), and let users adjust the drop down if they want to see other items in their feed (but not eliminate the other options).

I hope this makes sense! I’ll elaborate if unclear. Thanks.
