Please help! I was locked out of my super admin account while doing some splogger clean up and have no idea how to get back in or where to go for help.

    Hi Becca,

Are you able to access your site via FTP? Also, did you install any
specific spam-blocking plugins on your site?

    Best,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for your help. I installed WangGuard and after I was managing some of the sploggers it had flagged and I was then locked out. The other Admin to the account is not even able to get me back into the site by manually going in an unflagging my account. I could try getting in the the FTP if you gave a detailed description of how to do so.

I also have Askimet installed as well. I do not think this plugin is the problem however.

Hi Becca – It seems like you need to remove the WangGuard plugin from your file system.  Do you have access to your host via an interface such as cPanel?  You could use the FileManager that is available there.  Or if you have set up an FTP account, you can access it that way – you would need a third party program such as FileZilla which connnects to your file system via FTP.

You’ll need to navigate to wp-content/plugins and find WangGuard and remove it.

    Hi Jose,

I was on the WangGuard plugin and there were two “pending” users. After I had investigated them and realized they were sloggers, I marked them and told WangGuard to delete them. The two users were not deleted. Then after I navigated away from that page the site kicked me out and when I tried to login it stated “account marked as spam”. I did have the other admin to the site login and deactivate WangGuard but that did not clear my username from spam. I also had him try to manually mark my account as “not spam” and that had no affect. I can still get to the site through the FTP login and have the temporary solution of just creating another account and having the other admin make that account an admin account but I would really like solve this conundrum.

    Scott,

Thanks for the Advice. I am investigating the FileZilla now to see if I can remove the problem this way.

    Thank you!

    Becca
