It’s me again. I posted two days ago as a brand new member of the CIB member. I’m beginning to wonder if I made the right choice with CIB. I saw the CUNY Academic Commons website and was REALLY impressed by the site. I’m interested in creating a website that functions as a social community. I am not, however, building the platform on a network; I’m simply wanting to create an online space for people to interact in community. Does the CIB buddypress platform assume or require working on a network?
Hi Guy,
You do not need to have WordPress set up as a network to use CBOX. In fact, I do most of my testing on a single WP site install!
Thanks. You know i’m really having a difficult time getting this going. I’m finding the online documentation difficult to use. I really need a basic “how to” book. It took me forever just to figure out how to get the slider to work on my homepage. I still don’t understand how to work on my homepage uses “pages” in my dashboard and how to work on my homepage using the CBOX Theme options. There is clearly a difference but no documentation explains that difference. This is just one of the many things that i’m finding quite frustrating. I think CBOX is a great thing, I just wish I could figure out how to use it.
Why does my “register”page take me back to my home page? Why does none of the text I write for my home page show up under the slider on my home page? Where can I find documentation to answer these simple questions?
