    Hi all,

first of all thank you for your great work!

I just encountered one small issue and I couldn’t find an answer so far.

I installed cbox without any problems (on a fresh wp 3.8.1), but i couldn’t install BP thorugh the cbox dialogue (it just sent me back to the previous page whent I entered (the correct) FTP password). So I installed through the ‘normal” wp-plugin dialogue and cbox identified it without problems.

But I got the same problem with the installation of other plugins through cbox (same problem here, after entering the ftp-password it just sends me back to the cbox-plugin-overview site without installing the plugin).

    Thank you for your help,
    finn

    Hi @finn –

It sounds to me like maybe when you installed CBOX initially, you didn’t see the hyperlink at the very top of the page: “Let’s Get Started”?  When you click that, CBOX installs the required plugins (BuddyPress) and the recommended plugins automatically.  Once that is done, you have the option to install the CBOX theme (recommended) or else just use another theme.  So the installation process has really 3 steps – install CBOX, install the plugins that it manages, and (optionally) install the CBOX theme.

It sounds like you might be running CBOX locally?  Did you download the zip file and then click upload to get the process going?  Not exactly sure about the password that you are getting prompted to enter.

Let us know if you are still having issues.  Thanks.

    Hi Scott,

thank you for you kind reply.

You describe exactly what I did: I went to the “Lets get started” and cbox wanted to install BP and asked for the FTP -adress /username/password. After entering I just got back to the very same page telling me to install BP.

After trying several times I decided to install BP through the standard-wp-plugin-installer (without any problems).

Installing the cbox-theme through the cbox-diologue was no problem – it prompted my as well for the ftp credentials and installed it without problems.

It’s running on a shared webserver with  php 5.4.2.4 and mysql 5.5.35 and all the rest of wp and cbox is running fine…

    Hi @finn –

Glad everything is okay – I wonder if your setup is possibly somehow breaking the automated way CBOX gets installed.  I saw this link about getting rid of the ftp prompt when installing WP plugins –

    http://admindaily.com/how-to-stop-wordpress-ftp-to-upgrade-plugins.html

Just wondering if that change to wp-config.php might fix it.

But glad it is running fine.

    Hi Scott,

that did the trick! I put the ftp credentials in the config file and it works like a charm. This will help me with my ohter wp-installations as well 🙂

    Thanks a lot!

Edit: Is there somewhere a “Resolved” button? Couldn’t find it..
