Has anyone been trying buddydrive for file attachments linked to groups? Are there any other interesting plugins for file attachment management at the user/group level?

    Thanks Dave @musicmovement,

I installed the plugin. And I am expriencing some issues:

Partial access to my groups only one of them gets displayed in the chose group drop box and is available for selection as sharing option.
Upload of this file does not appear in the group’s activity and in the general activity.
Some layout issues with the profile captions that get displayed horizontally above the files list.

I have the basic Cbox theme. Have you experienced these too?

Hi Helene, yes I am experiencing some issues too, but the advantages far outweigh these.

As far as partial access is concerned, I’m having no problems, you have to make sure that you activate BuddyDrive for all groups that you want to have this feature separately though …
It is true that it does not appear in the activity streams, but it is not important for my site, so there’s no problem there
Yes, with the basic CBox theme there are some layout issues. As far as I know though, the plugin author Imath and Bowe are both aware of these, and are working on a solution. It effects only the navigation on the profile page though, and as in my case, I am the only person uploading files, it doesn’t matter that much – it is annoying though, I must admit.

Apart from that though, if and when these issues are sorted out, it really is an asset to CBox, and the only file systems I’ve found that works.

I have to agree with Dave on all accounts.

I like the fact that the uploaded files do not show in the activity streams automatically. You can do this manually though. Have a look at 3 minutes in to this clip as to how http://vimeo.com/64323101#

    Thanks Dave and MySchoolStuff!

Yes groups only appear when buddypress is activated at the group level.

And yes, once the file or folder is shared it appears in activity.

So we are only left with the layout issue.

    Great plugin!
