Is anyone using BuddyPress hierarchy? How do groups/subgroups display on the groups directory?

Do subgroup members automatically become the parent group’s?

Is the activity of the subgroup automatically placed in the activity of the parent group?

@1two3, I think I saw subgroups on your site. Does it come from there? Or something else? Is it not too heavy to handle and read into?

So far I liked the idea of projects to showcase and put some boundaries (mostly to locate stuff) around what’s happening in groups. But collabpress is not quite up to the task. Full of bugs, and in particular layout/theme bugs…

Also as a principle, I must say I would rather aggregate than divide…

Hi Helene. Feel free to register and have a look around and try the feature.

Once registered you can create a sub-group in the test groupĀ http://myschoolstuff.co.za/groups/test-group-1377131593/hierarchy/

    Thanks Eugene! @1two3.
I’m now a member of your site, thanks for the invite! Lots of interesting things, such as achievements and classifieds. Are these plugins or home developed? And do you have multisite to have blogs at group level?

As far as hierarchy is concerned, the link you shared up there is broken šŸ™

…Ah no, got it, was a dash too much!

    No problem.

I added you to the test group and made you admin/

The classified plugin is fromĀ http://premium.wpmudev.org/Ā and achievements is on WordPress.org.

Cubepoints (on WordPress.org) may be better if you want classifieds because, as far as I remember, you can use cubepoints as credits on the classifieds plugin. I haven’t had the time to explore this

@1two3 Great experience thanks. So is this the hierarchy plugin?

And where do the inserts of pics, links, videos come from?

Would you like me to delete the sub group I created to cean up your site?

That is also fromĀ http://premium.wpmudev.org/Ā It is a free plugin if I remember correctly

They have some excellent plugins geared towards buddypress groups, but they are costly
