I have elements overlapping with the activity stream tour. I am including a screenshot. I don’t have a child theme on this site and css seems particularly difficult to make changes with.
I would also like to thank the team for making c-box! I have been using it since it launched and have built a successful community with my latest site – 523 active members. This particular community launched in January.
Hi James – Thanks for being a dedicated user of CBOX! If you want us to showcase your site, let us know.
The particular issue you refer to is difficult for the dev team to address without a little more info. Is it possible for you to share (either publicly or privately) a link that would actively display the issue. Or conversely, maybe you can turn on a web debugger like Firebug (in Firefox) to see if you see what is overlaying the content of the activity stream. Is it possible that you installed a new plugin that might account for this problem? Did it occur recently (i.e. after updating to new version of CBOX) ?
Sorry for all the questions – but answers would help when I create a ticket for the dev team to investigate.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for the reply. You would have to join the site to see the problem. Here is the URL: https://earthcointalk.org/activity/
It occurred after the last cbox update. I updated WordPress at the same time. I also had to remove several sub-items from the menu as they were getting lost behind the slider and content body.
I have used firebug and changed the z-index on some elements, but it doesn’t work when adding it to the custom css box in the cbox dashboard. I like the stock cbox theme and wasn’t wanting to set up a child theme for this one problem unless it was absolutely necessary.
Thanks, adding my site to the showcase would be great. It is a mostly stock cbox theme with no child and very little custom CSS. https://earthcointalk.org
Hi James –
Thanks for reporting this and providing the necessary detail. I have opened up a ticket on GitHub for the dev team to investigate. You can track its progress here: https://github.com/cuny-academic-commons/cbox-theme/issues/210
I was able to join your site and see exactly what you are describing. It does seem like some kind of z-index issue.
Again – thanks!
Thanks for looking into it.
Hi James – Looks like Christian Wach – @haystack – has posted a pull request on github to address this issue. Thanks Christian!
