Also worth looking at https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-registration-options/ which will hold new signups for moderation.

You might find this plugin — written by the Commons/CBOX team — useful —

BP Restrict Signup by Email Domain

<iframe loading="lazy" class="wp-embedded-content" sandbox="allow-scripts" security="restricted"src="https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-rsed/embed/#?secret=cfjbCl92G6" data-secret="cfjbCl92G6" width="600" height="338" title="“BP Restrict Signup by Email Domain” — Plugin Directory" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no">

I’ve used it on several CBOX sites to good effect to restrict registration to particular domains, such as .edu and .org

Best,

Matt

Hi Richard, Matthew has given you an excellent response, however I thought I would add my two bits as a third party. I work at a university in British Columbia, Canada and we are in the midst of a project using CBox. I also know of another development that I’ll probably have some peripheral involvement with.
